Teenage attempted murder suspect released on bail after Willenhall attack

A teenager arrested on suspicion of attempting to murder a schoolboy in Willenhall has been released on bail.

The 15-year-old suspect was arrested after another 15-year-old was hit on the head with an unknown object at around 9.20pm on Friday.

The victim was knocked unconscious in the attack, which took place in Lichfield Road, near the junction of Forest Gate.

The teenager was taken to hospital in a critical condition with a fracture to his skull and a bleed on the brain.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said the victim was still in a serious condition in hospital on Monday morning and confirmed the suspect had been released on bail.
