Boy, 16, stabbed in the neck outside Birmingham shop

A teenager has been stabbed in the neck outside a shop in Birmingham.

The 16-year-old boy was stabbed in Duddeston Mill Road, in the Nechells area of the city, just after 9pm last night.

He was rushed to hospital, though his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

West Midlands Police has launched an investigation into the stabbing – and are carrying out CCTV enquiries to trace the offender.

A spokesman for the force said: "We are investigating a stabbing outside a shop on Duddeston Mill Road in Nechells, Birmingham, just after 9pm on Friday night.

"A 16-year-old boy was stabbed in the neck and taken to hospital, though his injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening at this time.

"CCTV enquiries continue to trace the offender. Anyone with information is asked to contact us."
