Attempted murder arrest as man run over on Black Country industrial estate

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was run over at a Black Country industrial estate.

The man, aged 46, was seriously injured when he was hit by a car on the Canalside Industrial Estate in Brierley Hill yesterday.

The 34-year-old female suspect remains in custody.

Part of the estate remains cordoned off today as forensic teams examine the scene next to the Stourbridge Canal just off Brettell Lane.

Two police tents have been put up near M Arnold Vehicle repairs, which is based in a unit off Wedgbury Way.

One is understood to be covering the place where the man was hit and another is believed to be covering a car next to the entrance to the garage.

Police were called by paramedics just after 6pm on Saturday but the incident is thought to have happened some time earlier.

The man was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he remained in a serious condition on Saturday.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "A woman has been arrested after a collision where a man was hit by a car in Wedgbury Way, Brierley Hill.

"We were called by paramedics just after 6pm yesterday. The man, aged 46, was taken to hospital in a serious condition.

"The woman, aged 34, remains in custody today.
