Masked hammer robbers raid Oldbury One Stop shop

Armed robbers stormed a Black Country store before threatening staff members and stealing cash.

The two masked men, armed with a hammer and crowbar, burst into the One Stop store in Castle Road West, in Oldbury, on Sunday night.

They threatened staff in the store before fleeing with an unknown amount of cash.

No one was injured in the raid which unfolded at around 8.30pm.

West Midlands Police has now launched an investigation and is asking for witnesses to come forward.

A spokesman for the force said: "Police were called to reports of an armed robbery at the One Stop shop in Castle Road West, Oldbury at about 8.30pm on Sunday, January 19.

"Two masked offenders, armed with a hammer and crowbar, threatened staff before stealing cash and leaving the shop.

"No one was injured and investigations are ongoing."

Anyone with information is asked to call West Midlands Police on 101, quoting incident number 20SW/16711X/20.
