Attempted murder charge over Walsall 'road rage' attack

A man will appear in court charged with attempted murder after an alleged road rage attack.

Police say a man, aged 27, was run over close to the Tesco Extra petrol station, in Walsall.

The victim suffered serious injuries in attack, in Little Albert Street, at 5.30pm on December 19.

He remains in hospital, say West Midlands Police.

Darnell Sturk, 22, of Pommell Close, Walsall, has since been charged with attempted murder and remanded in custody.

He is due to appear in court on January 21.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Officers investigating an alleged road rage incident where a 27-year-old man was run over on Little Albert Street in Walsall are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

"Anyone who saw what happened, near to the entrance to Tesco in the town centre near to the petrol station at around 5.30pm on Thursday 19 December, is urged to contact police."
