Staff threatened with claw hammer as masked men raid Walsall Co-op

Masked men armed with a claw hammer and metal bar raided a Co-op store in Walsall and demanded cash from staff.

The men threatened staff at the Liskeard Road branch and forced them to open the till.

The pair stole an unknown quantity of cash before fleeing shortly before 10pm on Saturday.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: "CCTV enquires and investigations are ongoing."

Emily Scott, a spokeswoman for The Midcounties Co-operative, said staff were helping police with their investigation.
