Man released under investigation after woman's body found in West Bromwich

A man arrested after a woman's body was discovered in West Bromwich has been released pending further investigation.

The body of the 35-year-old woman was found at a home in Beacon View Road, in the Charlemont Farm area, shortly before 5.30am on Wednesday.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said a post-mortem examination into the woman's death had proved inconclusive and further tests would be carried out.

A 51-year-old man arrested in connection with her death has been released pending further investigation. West Midlands Police had not confirmed what he was arrested on suspicion of.

A spokesman for the force said: "Police are continuing to investigate after the body of a woman was found at an address in West Bromwich on Wednesday.

"Officers were called to Beacon View Road in the Charlemont Farm area just before 5.30am where the body of a 35-year-old woman was found.

"A post-mortem examination has proved inconclusive and further tests are due to be carried out to determine the cause of death.

"A 51-year-old man arrested in connection with the death has been released pending further investigation."
