Two suspected fuel thieves have been arrested after a dramatic police chase ended on the A5.

Police officers chased a vehicle from Bentley into Staffordshire, to Bloxwich and then Brownhills before the suspects were caught by being boxed in and stopped by a stinger on the A5.

Two suspects were then arrested on suspicion of driving away from petrol forecourts without paying more than 100 times.

West Midlands Police Force Response tweeted saying: "Eunit Walsall officers have engaged a pursuit that took them from Bentley onto M6, into Staffs area, back into Bloxwich, then Brownhills before being stung and boxed on the A5.

"Great team work with @CMPG @Trafficwmp and @StaffsPolice. Two arrested for over 100 Bilking offences.

"It was pretty impressive to see the long stream of blue lights tailing along the road. Sorry to any of the motorists on the A5, who had to wait whilst we have the road blocked. Your patience is appreciated."
