The boy was chased by a group of six older boys who pushed him over and kicked and stamped on him.

They then tore his hearing aids from his head and stamped on them, breaking his hearing implants.

The attack happened on Lister Road in Beechdale on September 28 - and police have today launched an appeal for information.

Officers said the incident happened between 6.15pm and 7pm.

Sergeant Adam Hicklin, from West Midlands Police CID, said: “We are appealing for help with identifying this group of bullies who launched an unprovoked and hateful attack on a defenceless young boy.

"In addition to physical injuries, the boy is very frightened and shaken and has suffered damage to his hearing aids that will cost several thousand pounds to replace.”
