'Suspicious' fire in bedroom of Willenhall flat

A suspicious blaze broke out in a flat in Willenhall today.

West Midlands Fire Service was called to Fairlawn Way at 12.04am.

Fire service spokesman Matthew Smith, said: "There was a fire in the first floor flat of the two storey maisonette.

"Fire damage was contained to the bedroom. There were no persons in the building when we arrived.

"It is believed to be suspicious so we have asked the police to investigate."

Around 10 firefighters from Bloxwich and Willenhall fire stations attended.

Crews left the scene at 4.15am.
