They included patients who were not happy with their operation and complaints over delayed appointments.

Others alleged there had been issues with scans and one patient claimed there had been a breach of confidentiality.

There were also complaints about district nursing and the attitudes of staff.

Last month, there was also a sharp rise in the number of informal complaints received by Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust.

There were 296 informal complaints in July, compared to 221 in June.

Just a single compliment was recorded last month, while there had been 22 in the month before.

In a report to the trust board, which meets on Thursday, patients relations manager Garry Perry said: "Patient relations have seen an overall increase of 31 contacts during July 2015.

"This figure includes a total increase of 29 formal complaints which is a significant overall increase when compared to the number received in previous months."

The most popular type of complaint lodged last month was about emergency and acute care, with eight people complaining about this topic.

There were also seven complaints about general surgery.

Other complaints which were alleged included a doctor accused of being dismissive when a patient visited A&E, communication failures were claimed and a doctor who allegedly failed to identify the fractures sustained in a patient's hand.

The patient lodged a formal complaint claiming the x-ray had not been reviewed by a senior doctor and wanted to know why, according to the report.
