One Direction star Liam Payne visits Wolverhampton curry restaurant

What a difference a day makes. Suited and booted, One Direction superstar leaves a Robbie Williams gig after rubbing shoulders with other celebrities - before returning home for a curry with his family in Wolverhampton the next night.

Liam sported a smart black suit and blue shirt when he stepped out with girlfriend Sophia Smith, also from Wolverhampton, after seeing Robbie Williams at the London Palladium on Friday.

The 20-year-old clutched a classic black mac in one hand and his girlfriend's hand in the other, as the pair were snapped looking dapper.

Sophia, who went to St Peter's Collegiate School with Liam, wore a black pencil dress and classic camel coat.

But 24 hours later, the boybander proved he's still a Black Country kid at heart when he was spotted looking more casual during a visit to Penn Tandoori.

Liam toned his look down for the trip on Saturday night, when he was pictured wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and black leather jacket.

Liam signed the menu

The singer from Bushbury was at the Penn Road restaurant to celebrate his sister's birthday along with family and Sophia.

Bosses at the restaurant had to turn away fans as word spread among fans that the popstar was in the building.

Afterwards Liam posed for pictures with staff and signed a menu rating the curry house as the 'best curry around'.

Restaurant manager Muhammed Uddin said: "Liam is a superstar now but he's been coming here with his family for a number of years. "We even know his favourite dish, chicken tikka bhuna, he orders it every time.

"He's a great guy and his family are good customers of ours and it's always good to see him - he was here last Christmas.

"There were a few fans in the restaurant and they got a bit excited when they heard he was here and they sort of hung around waiting to catch a glimpse but then other fans were turning up we had to turn them away.

"The family are customers and we have to respect their privacy.

"It was nice of Liam to stop for pictures and sign autographs. It obviously shows we've got the X-factor when it comes to curry."

Despite his global status and globe-trotting with his One Direction bandmates, down-to-earth Liam makes numerous trips back to Wolverhampton to visit his family.
