He has been labelled the 'king of bling' and Aston Villa's multi-million pound summer signing does not disappoint after opening up his home for a magazine photo shoot.

Stephen Ireland and partner Jessica Lawlor have showcased their love of shiny fabrics, bright colours and generally extravagant taste in interior design in these pictures.

The home - and the couple's purple bedroom - was partially revealed when Miss Lawlor took part in a World Cup Celebrity Come Dine With Me special during the South Africa World cup.

Ireland, nicknamed Superman, is notorious for his taste in flash cars, paying £260,000 for a white Bentley GTC convertible for Jessica's 24th birthday in October, with "To Jess, love

Stephen" stitched into the upholstery. He also has a string of customised cars including a £90,000 black Range Rover pimped up with bright pink alloys, grille and seats and a sky blue £100,000 Audi R8 with a Superman logo sprayed on to the petrol cap.

But as these pictures show, the cars are just the tip of the iceberg. The pad in Prestbury, Cheshire, includes a 12-metre indoor pool, spa bath, six bedrooms and cinema and snooker rooms and in the pictures from VIP Magazine, an Irish celebrity publication, the couple pose beside a pool table adorned with the Irishman's name, as well as an enormous fish tank.

The pair are seen posing on a furry chair, while a bedroom that comes complete with brown, gold and black furnishings looks like something straight out of the home of Scarface film character Tony Montana.

However, the crowning glory is the radioactive-looking pink room belonging to his daughter.

With a princess inspired theme the room contains princess murals on the pink walls, a pink chair, bedspread and even ceiling.
