The plans, submitted by Mrs Kim Langford, will see a new craft ale micro pub built at unit 73 on the St Matthews Quarter, George Street.

A statement attached to the application reads: "Out clients have identified the growing trend for micro pubs and this vacant retail unit meets their criteria.

"The unit is located in an area that is now being redeveloped and the addition of a micro pub would enhance the area and breathe life into George Street.

"My client believes that a new micro pub offering cask and craft ales would be a great addition to the area."

Planning officers with Walsall Council have recommended the plans for approval when they go to a full planning committee meeting.
