Katharine House Hospice is behind Strictly Stafford competition.

In partnership with Danny Bell of The Ballroom Company, 12 local dancers will compete in the contest.

Ex Strictly Come Dancing star Edwina Currie will be special guest judge at the event, which is hoped will raise £20,000 for the hospice.

Liverpool-born Currie was a Conservative MP from 1983 to 1997. In her book Currie's Diaries she claimed to have had a four-year affair with then Prime Minister John Major.

She was in Strictly Come Dancing in 2011, but was eliminated at the first round.

After the competition X Factor's Ollie Marland will provide live entertainment.

The event at Staffordshire County Showground will be on November 24 at 7pm.

Tickets cost £20 and are available by calling 01785 270808.
