Pop-punk band Someone Else, from Shrewsbury, has been working hard on creating a second album which they plan to release on February 2.

It has been given the title Punk Rock For Our Souls and every track is self-penned by the group.

Someone Else is made up of Dan Thornhill, Phillip Jones, David Middleton and Rob Simmons. Together they have the joint goal to create energetic live shows with plenty of audience participation.

The lads list their influences as Green Day, Blink 182, MXPX, New Found Glory, Bowling For Soup, Less Than Jake and Army of Freshmen.

They like to play tunes which they describe as 'very melodic/catchy songs'.

The group is looking forward to releasing the new album and will be holding a special gig on February 1 at The Vaults in Shrewsbury on February 1.

At the end of the gig lucky fans will be able to get their hands on an album early.

The album will be available on Amazon, iTunes and Spotify next month.

David, who plays bass, said: "I think there is a gap in the Shrewsbury music scene for a band like us as there really aren't that many pop punk bands around.

"We aim to win over as many people as possible with a fun and energetic live show."

Dan, the band's guitarist and vocalist, said: "We have a great laugh playing live and our main aim is for the crowd to have as much fun watching us as we do playing for them."

Someone Else released their debut album, called To The Stage, last year and have spent the last 12 months gigging around Shropshire to promote it.
