The former Star Unsigned column act has recorded it with help from artist Priscilla Cameron at the city's Toonz Mindset Studio. He met the American producer Last Leta while performing and networking at the A3C Festival in Atalanta, Georgia in October last year, and again he provides production values.

And it is available to stream and download right now via the Kolossal TVUK YouTube channel, his Spotify page, iTunes, and all major platforms.

More coverage:

Kupid wrote Diamond as a victory chant for all those who have been judged by others and have overcome adversity.

Aside from being an international performing and recording artist, Kupid - real name Kupid Val-Essoné - is also a youth mentor, mental health first aider and restorative justice practitioner at The Switch Project in his home city and has worked with many young people who labelled as 'naughty', 'troubled', 'rude' and/or 'violent' alongside so many other labels.

Within the music industry Kupid works closely with people from different backgrounds who face different daily struggles whether they’re models who are stereotyped based on their career choice, business owners frowned upon because of their flamboyance and even race, or artists who are discriminated against because they are members of the LGBTQ+ community.

And he said of his new single: "The song Diamond promotes faith in self and is a reminder that we are unbreakable. The song is a celebration and realisation that we are all diamonds.

"Some will love and some will hate us, we were made for greatness. Diamonds form and do not break up, so you know you cannot break us.”

He has also put a video together for the track, available at the Kolossal TVUK YouTube page, once again working with Ellie Howard of 1709 Productions.

The video was directed to represent all people and is inclusive of people from all different walks of life. He says that David Dwyer, Moto, NeonOla, City Limos, Players Club & Bar in Birmingham, Diamond Beauty Queens all played a "huge part" in bringing the video to life.
