Glenn Wool will delve into his back catalogue of material spanning 25 years to perform Wool's Gold II at Newhampton Arts Centre in Wolverhampton.

He said: "It's a retrospective account of 25 years in stand up comedy, so I'm doing some material from when I was a younger man right up until my advanced age of 44 right now.

"It's a bit of a life story and it's also a chance to talk about some of these bits live for the last time."

Glenn, who used to live in Birmingham but now lives in Chelmsford with his family, said he has performed in the Black Country and Staffordshire many times.

"I've done lots of gigs and I've always liked it," he added. "Wolverhampton is a gritty hard-working city and that's what is best for comedy, when somebody works pretty hard for their pay packet they're not going to sit there with their arms folded and not laugh."

Glenn began his comedy career in his hometown of Vancouver in 1995 before moving to London in 1998.

As well as performing live shows around the world, his TV credits include John Oliver’s 'New York Stand-Up Show' as well as appearances on The Green Room with Paul Provenza, 8 Out of 10 Cats, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Russell Howard’s Good News and numerous other UK stand-up shows.

In 2016 Glenn was featured on The John Bishop Show on BBC1 and hosted a new NBC series Before the Morning After.

In recent years Glenn has performed to crowds in Holland, Singapore, Dubai, Cape Town, Melbourne, Montreal, LA, New York, Auckland and Sydney.

He said in one two-week space he counted three laps of the world at some point.

He added: "At the end of it I woke up in a hotel and I was so jet lagged I really didn't know where I was.

"I looked around and realised it was a chain hotel so I could've been anywhere and in the end I called reception and asked where I was. She said I was in room 76."

Glenn's show will begin at 8pm. For more information, or to book, visit http://www.newhamptonarts.co.uk/

Glenn will also be appearing at Stafford Gatehouse Theatre on April 25.
