WATCH: 'Piers Morgans' descend on Dudley's DY Eye to mark April Fools

Dozens of 'Piers Morgans' descended on Dudley today to kick off April Fools Day and show support for the under-fire DY Eye.

The outspoken presenter has sparked anger in the town with his claim that there was 'no grimmer panorama' than Dudley.

And he told the Express & Star he would only ride the wheel if it came to Beverley Hills.

So today supporters of the wheel donned Piers Morgan masks in front of the 115ft Eye.

Arcade Toy Shop owner Dave Carter who came up with the masks plan said today: "The idea has been to poke a bit of fun back at Piers Morgan about his comments made to prove the people of Dudley have a sense of humour.

"Around seven thousand people have already rode the attraction, which is well on the way to achieving the target of 10,000 when the ride gets dismantled.

"We have had people from all around the country visit as well."
