Hobbs has been charged with misconduct after allegedly directing abusive language towards a match official in the tunnel following Wolves’ 2-2 draw with the Magpies last Saturday.

The sporting director has until Monday (NOV 6) to respond to the charge.

It is the latest in a number of disciplinary run-ins for Wolves, who have been fined more than £200,000 in 2023 in relation to FA charges.

Nottingham Forest - January 2023

Wolves were fined £45,000 by the FA following a brawl with Nottingham Forest during their Carabao Cup quarter-final.

Wolves were deemed to bear ‘significantly higher responsibility’ in the clash following a penalty shootout which saw Forrest progress.

Former Wolves midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White was at the heart of the scuffle following celebrations towards his former club. Julen Lopetegui was deemed ‘unprofessional’ by the FA commission as his actions attempting to approach Gibbs-White were labelled a ‘flashpoint’.

Matheus Cunha was also blamed for ‘using aggression’ as tempers boiled.
