Steve Bull: Let’s see Wolves finish this season in style!

What a situation Wolves are in now. Feeling down after a draw, despite being sixth with two games left, shows how far we have come.

The last-gasp penalty which saw it finish 1-1 at Burnley was gutting, but we are still in a brilliant position.

It was very unlucky at Turf Moor, and it should not have been a penalty.

Does Matt Doherty get left needing stitches in his head, or does he put his arm up to protect himself from Chris Wood’s boot?

It was a strange situation, and it could have easily been a free-kick to us for dangerous play instead of a penalty.

That match and decision are gone now, though, and let’s face it, everybody would have happily taken Wolves’ current predicament had they been offered it at the start of the season.

I had doubts over whether they could carry on at such a high level given the number of games that come with the Europa League, but what they have done has been unbelievable. It is incredible.

We are all pinching ourselves, especially when you consider our past of fighting relegation in the top flight, because we are a proper force in the Premier League now.

Monday night, against Crystal Palace, is a tough game for us, but the lads have just got to carry on with the same approach they have had throughout the season.

When we lose or draw, we tend to bounce back and respond in style, so hopefully that continues.

The Eagles have lost their last six games and do not, really, have anything to play for other than pride now, while we still have everything to play for.

Everyone knows the importance of the game in terms of getting into Europe, and if we win it, it will go a long way to sealing a Europa spot.

It would be great if a couple of other results went our way too, so we could go down to Chelsea next weekend and enjoy ourselves.

Overall though, we are in a fantastic spot. It is in our hands and, let’s not forget, there is the Europa to think about next month – which is very exciting.

Let’s go and grab a massive victory, and give this superb season the finish it truly deserves!
