Wolves came from behind to win at Norwich at the weekend.

Romain Saiss and Raul Jimenez got the goals for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, and with the help of whoscored.com – specialists in the in-depth analysis of football data – JOE EDWARDS takes a look at the stats.

Hard-fought clash

Norwich were the better side, without a shadow of a doubt, in the first half.

But Wolves recovered after the break, unsettled the hosts and got their goals.

Looking at the data, there was very little to separate the two teams.

Norwich had a total of 13 shots, compared to Wolves’ total of 14. The Canaries just edged possession with 50.2 per cent, while both teams won 20 aerial duels.

Norwich also won 15 tackles to Wolves’ 13.

They say football is a game of fine margins and, ultimately, Wolves took their chances, and Norwich did not. A harsh lesson for Daniel Farke’s men.

Productive Patricio

Rui Patricio ended up making six saves, keeping Wolves in the game.

His distribution was much better as well, with 70 per cent of his passes being accurate.

Against Tottenham, it was a mere 41 per cent, so this was far more like it from the Portuguese.

Aerial prowess

Saiss equalised with a well-placed header at the far post, and the 29-year-old was a colossus in the air for Wolves at Carrow Road.

The Moroccan won seven aerial duels, and that was the joint-highest of anyone on the pitch.

What is even more impressive is that Saiss won every header he went up for.

Jimenez also won seven aerial battles from the 10 he went up for, so shared top spot with the defender.
