The 23-man squad flew out from Birmingham early on Monday morning – but there were a number of notable absentees.

Helder Costa is back in Wolverhampton having had surgery on an ongoing ankle injury, which will keep him out for two months.

Jon Dadi Bodvarsson has been given an extended summer break after almost two years of continuous football, while Jordan Graham has missed out amid suggestions of a slight injury problem.

New defender Phil Ofosu-Ayeh has also not travelled owing to an injury he had when joining the club. Dominic Iorfa, Lee Evans, Prince Oniangue, Ethan Ebanks-Landell and Morgan Gibbs-White are others to have missed out.

However £15million signing Ruben Neves is with the squad, having travelled separately and arriving on Tuesday morning. That means six of Wolves' seven summer signings are taking part in the trip.

Youngster Sylvain Deslandes is a surprise inclusion. The French left-back wasn't involved in the first team last season but with Wolves still chasing the signing of German left-back Philip Heise he is in Austria as back-up to Barry Douglas.

And chairman Jeff Shi is also out with the squad, overseeing proceedings.
