From the archive - Bully makes his point

Steve Bull never shied away from a scrap or two.

And he was in angry finger-pointing form at the end of a heated Midlands clash against Derby County in December 1993.

Wolves were 2-1 down in injury time when Bully was given a sizeable lump on his right knee following a 'reckless' challenge by Derby's captain Martin Kuhl.

Cue a mass handbags-style brawl between the two sides, which continued in the tunnel at full time.

Bully was forced off injured, with the knock leading him to miss the prestigious friendly with Honved a few days later which marked the official opening of the newly redeveloped Molineux.

But before Bull left the field he had a few choice words for Kuhl, with Wolves physio Paul Darby having to lead him to the dressing room, watched closely by referee John Key.

It was a happy ending for Wolves though with David Kelly scrambling home a last-gasp equaliser just seconds later.

Earlier Marco Gabbiadini had scored twice for Derby, with Bully equalising in between.

Boss Graham Turner – who would be sacked four months later as Wolves struggled in second-tier mid-table – was livid with Bully's treatment, saying his man had been 'assaulted throughout the game.'

Derby manager Roy McFarland predictably disagreed, saying: "Steve Bull is no angel and I would be disappointed if my players weren't committed when they faced him."
