Wayne Hennessey back as Wolves set for pre-season

Wolves head coach Kenny Jackett welcomes back Wayne Hennessey and a virtually fully-fit squad when the players return for the start of pre-season training on Monday.

Hennessey is ready to take part in some training as he makes his way back from a twice ruptured cruciate knee ligament.

Fellow casualties Carl Ikeme, David Davis and Dave Edwards are also ready to return, leaving Razak Boukari, working his way back from a calf injury, as the only player still under treatment.

"Razak is the only one who isn't likely to start pre-season," said Jackett. "I have spoken to David Davis whose ankle is fine, and Carl is fine too. In terms of Hennessey, we're going to have to monitor what he does and take it day by day.

"We'll have to be very careful but he's confident and he's good to go."

"We'll monitor his situation and treat him with kid gloves to make sure he gets through the pre-season period.

"Apart from Razak everybody is there or thereabouts."

Meanwhile, Martin Allen – boss of Molineux's first visitors Gillingham – is relishing the prospect of playing Wolves.

"Eighteen months ago, Wolves were in the Premier League and Gillingham were in League Two," he said.

"That's going to be a tough game for them.

"We want to get going as soon as possible, so bring it all on.

"There won't be any fear from us, that's for sure."
