Albion's programme has been named Championship Programme of the Year by the trade’s leading magazine.

This season's editions of Albion News is based on film posters.

Programme Monthly picked Albion News, edited by Dave Bowler, because it was ‘thought-provoking’ and ‘intelligently written’.

Bowler has covered the Baggies programme with famous movie posters this season, two years after his critically-acclaimed season of classic album covers.

Everything from Monty Python’s Holy Grail to The Wizard of Oz has been aped by Bowler and his team this season.

But it was the content inside that impressed judges,

In their summary, Programme Monthly said: “The Baggies have absolutely nailed it with this stunning programme, which shows exactly what can be done when you use all the available space with thought provoking, intelligently written and entertaining articles. A superb programme from start to finish.”

Albion pipped Villa to top spot, who were awarded joint-second place alongside QPR.

Bowler is no strangers to these accolades. His programme also won Premier League programme of the year in 2012.

With three home games coming up in the space of 11 days, Bowler is working flat out at the moment.

But he paid tribute to his team of helpers, saying: “We are indebted to our designer Karl Wheeler at Blue Chilli and Stuart Curtis at Curtis-Sport for their hard work in putting the programme together and to Dave Prest and his sellers for putting it in your hands on match day.”

The front cover of this weekend’s programme for Tony Pulis’s return to The Hawthorns is a recreation of the Die Hard movie poster.

Last June, EFL clubs voted to end the compulsory production of match day programmes because of declining sale and inreased cost, but the Baggies committed to keep up production.
