Evans tragically passed away at the age of 51 at his home in the US in early-July.

He spent six years with the Saddlers between 1993 and 1999, before going on to amass 297 appearances for the Dale.

The net proceeds will be donated to Evans’ memorial fund, which was set-up to fund his repatriation process.

A group of former team-mates, led by Chris Marsh, created a fundraiser within days of Evans’ untimely passing, which has since exceeded £16,000.

Jimmy Walker also set-up a Just Giving page for his 50th birthday, which has reached over £2,000.

Marsh has hailed his former team-mates for coming together to help assist Wayne’s widow Bev, and insists there will be more events held throughout the next year to contribute to the fund.
