And veteran midfielder Guthrie said: “[There were] massive changes last year – I came in over the summer and it seemed like everyone was a new player. It

’s just about players getting comfortable knowing their role, knowing their responsibility and that’s what we got six months into the season.

“Now the pressure’s on, we’re an experienced group, we’ve got fresh legs and also we’ve been together for a year now. I can imagine the gaffer’s going to bring in a few new faces, but nothing like last year.

“Other teams are making wholesale changes and it’s difficult. On the odd occasion teams can hit the ground running but we’ve got that advantage of knowing everyone’s comfortable in the group, knowing everyone’s enjoyed coming back and it’s a good group to come into as well.”
