They fielded two new loan signings in midfielder Chris Gallagher from Shrewsbury and forward Bradley Reid from Tamworth whilst it was the first game in charge for new Buxton management duo Paul Phillips and Steve Halford.

The Glassboys had the better of the first half chances, Kaiman Anderson setting up Reid on 22 but his shot was well save by Jan Budtz who then parried another follow up effort by Anderson wide.

Reid should have given Stourbridge the lead two minutes later as he beat the offside trap when ut through with a great ball from Aaron Forde but he poked his shot wide of the post.

For Buxton, Liam Hardy saw a swirling goal bound shot tipped over by Matty Gould.

The second half saw Stourbridge take the lead on 50 minutes when Stuart Pierpoint's long free kick eventually came to Leon Broadhurst in the box whose shot found it's way in.

But Buxton went straight down the other end, and Darryl Westlake was adjudged to have fouled Nico De Girolamo in the box, Liam Hardy converting the penalty.

Just a minute later, Hardy found himself through on goal but Gould save with his feet.

Stourbridge forced a series of corners and played some neat football, with Buxton also looking threatening but neither side could force the win
