They sit rock-bottom of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier Division and, due to their early exit from the FA Cup, are back in league action this weekend as they bid for a second win in nine games.

Hill and his management staff have felt the pressure of the discontented Town faithful but Clarke is adamant that the ‘fighters’ will stick around until the turnaround is complete after lambasting the start as ‘not good enough’.

The Grove No.2 said: “The fans aren’t happy and we know some of them would like to see a change. But we’re both fighters and we won’t walk away.

“We certainly believe we can turn this around.”

The Yeltz go to West Yorkshire outfit Farsley Celtic, who sit fourth, to tackle the division newcomers for the second time this season after Celtic enjoyed a 2-1 win at The Grove last month.

Clarke and Hill are working tirelessly to add more quality and experience to the Town squad ahead of the long trip.

He added: “We’ve been that poor that we are looking to strengthen all over. We are trying to get a defender in and an experienced head in midfield that can calm things.

“We’ve not been good enough in any departments. We have been especially poor at the back.

“We concede in patches. One goal goes in and then we quickly concede a second. We’ve lost a couple of players we’ve been after this week which is frustrating, but they think twice about joining a team at the bottom.”

The Yeltz are without attacker Jordan Goddard, midfield men Ben Clarke and Danny Bragoli and defender Brad Lewis for the trip north.

Meanwhile, Rob Smith and Larry Chambers lead Hednesford Town out in league action at Cumbrian outfit Workington.

The duo returned to the Pitmen just over a week ago and have overseen a 3-0 victory over Sutton Coldfield and 5-2 reversal at Coalville.

The Pitmen are 15th in the Premier Division, with three wins and four defeats from nine games.
