Villa are confident Tom Heaton will be fit for their Premier League return following the goalkeeper’s withdrawal from the England squad.

The 33-year-old is back at Bodymoor Heath being assessed for a minor knock sustained during Saturday’s 5-1 win at Norwich.

Villa insist the decision to withdraw Heaton from the Three Lions squad, ahead of Euro 2020 qualifiers in the Czech Republic and Bulgaria, was done as a precaution and the shot-stopper is expected to be fit for when they host Brighton on Saturday week,

Heaton, an £8million summer signing from Burnley, has started all eight Premier League matches for Dean Smith’s side.

Villa owners Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens have, meanwhile, pumped another £57million into the club’s coffers with their latest injection of shares.

It takes their total investment since first arriving at the club in July, 2018 past the £200million mark.

In a further move, documents at Companies House confirmed the name of Villa’s holding company has been changed from Recon Group to NSWE UK Ltd.

The switch effectively erases the final links to former owner Tony Xia, who ended his association with the club in August.
