Svitoline joins reigning Wimbledon champion Garbine Muguruza, British No.1 Johanna Konta, two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova, five-time Grand Slam champion Maria Sharapova and 2018 Roland Garros semi-finalist Madison Keys in competing at the event, which gets started in little over two weeks' time.

The 23-year-old Ukrainian has enjoyed an outstanding season so far and will head to Birmingham having already won big titles in Brisbane, Dubai and most recently in Rome in May.

“I’m so happy to be coming to Birmingham again,” said Svitolina.

“It’s the perfect place to get matches on grass ahead of Wimbledon but it has a very strong line-up of players this year so I know how tough the competition will be. I’m very happy to be part of that.”

Nature Valley Classic Tournament Director Patrick Hughesman said: “Elina has had a great year so far and it’s exciting to add another big name to what is already a stellar line-up of players at the Nature Valley Classic."

"The courts are looking fantastic, everything is in place and we’re ready to go for what we know is going to be one of the most special tournaments in the history of this event.”

The tournament takes place at the Edgpaston Priory Club from June 18th, with tickets available here.
