Wolverhampton gas pipe works are delayed

Major gas works due to replace old pipes in Wolverhampton’s have been delayed due to engineering issues.

The works were due to take place along Compton Road from Monday.

It was part of a major plan to revamp Wolverhampton’s gas network and of a wider £65 million investment in the West Midlands gas network.

Cadent were due to carry out the works, closing Compton Road for a total of two weeks.

Stephen Murray, of Cadent said: “We’ve had to reschedule the project as a result of engineering difficulties. We’ll let local people know as soon as we have a new date for the works. We’d like to thank residents and businesses for their patience and understanding.”

Cadent will liaise with residents and businesses to let them know the new date for the start of the work.
