Cafe owner saves customer's life after she suffers suspected heart attack at market

A quick-thinking market trader saved the life of a customer who had suffered a suspected heart attack.

Brierley Hill Market Cafe owner Tina Round leapt into action after she was alerted by the woman's son after she collapsed at the back of the market at Little Cottage Street.

The woman had been in the cafe with her son and the incident happened just after she left. Tina, who has some first aid experience through previous work in a care environment, rushed outside, turned the woman on her side and cleared her airways as she appeared unconscious.

She called an ambulance and got her breathing. The ambulance arrived within five minutes.Tina said: "The ambulance crew said it was touch and go, but they took her to Russells Hall. She then had an operation and has since told me she is recovering.
