Fourteen firefighters battled the blaze at My Chicken in Brierley Hill High Street.

It is believed the fire started at the rear of the property.

West Midlands Fire Service was called at 9.04am.

Police blocked off the road while crews battled the flames.

It is not clear what caused the blaze or whether there was any injuries.

A WMFS spokesman said: "We had the call at 9.04am. It was a business called My Chicken on the High Street.

"The first crew arrived in under two minutes.

"This was a fire in the rear of a brick built building.

"Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

"We asked police to attend for traffic management.

"At about 10.15am they say they were making good progress.

"They had a thorough search of the property and surrounding properties."

Crews later returned to dampen down the scene.
