Unemployed Cradley Heath man in court for machete shop robberies

An unemployed man has been charged in connection with machete robberies in Dudley.

Craig Jewkes has been charged with robbery after the incidents in shops in Quarry Bank and Brierley Hill.

The 43-year-old, of Newpool Road, Cradley Heath, was arrested by West Midlands Police on New Year's Day.

Jewkes appeared at Dudley Magistrates' Court on Wednesday and was remanded in custody.

He will next appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on January 30.
