Driver taken to hospital as lorry overturns on M6

A lorry driver has been taken to hospital after his HGV overturned at Spaghetti Junction.

The crash happened at Junction 6 of the M6 in Birmingham shortly before 9am this morning.

The junction with the A38 Aston Expressway has been closed while the lorry is recovered.

A spokesman from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called by the police at 8:57am to an HGV rollover at the junction of the M6 and the A38.

"One ambulance and a paramedic officer attended the scene.

"We treated one patient, a man, the driver of the lorry, for injuries not believed to be serious. He was then taken to Heartlands Hospital for further treatment.”

A West Midlands Police spokesman said they were at the scene for traffic management.
