Knife found in stolen car after Halesowen crash - but driver escapes scene

A knife with a 14cm blade has been seized from a stolen car in Halesowen after police saw the driver crash and flee.

Police officers spotted the car in Halesowen and identified that it had been stolen, but when they attempted to pull the car over the driver failed to stop.

A spokesman for Dudley Town Police said: "On patrol in Halesowen we saw this stolen car. The driver failed to stop and ran after colliding with another vehicle.

"Unfortunately despite an extensive area search we could not locate the driver. We have seized this knife and other items from the car for forensic testing."
