Man suffers serious head injuries after Dudley assault

A man has been taken to hospital with serious head injuries after he was assaulted in Dudley this morning.

Smith Street was cordoned off after the incident

The assault took place on Smith Street, near to Buffery Park, in Dudley, at around 10.30am.

He was taken to hospital by ambulance for further treatment.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "A man has been taken to hospital with serious head injuries after being assaulted on Smith Street, Dudley around 10.30 this morning.

"We have launched an investigation and asking for anyone with information to contact us via Live Chat on our website or by calling 101, quoting log 1167 of 19/2.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 10:35am to reports of an assault in Buffery Road, Dudley.

"We sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care car to the scene.

"On arrival, crews found one patient, a man. He was treated for potentially serious injuries and was conveyed to hospital for further treatment."
