Man denies attempted murder in Wolverhampton Mini Market stabbing

A 39-year-old Afghan man has pleaded not guilty to the attempted murder of a fellow countryman in Wolverhampton.

Shafiullah Bashardoost was stabbed after he and his brother were confronted at the Mini Market shop in Dunstall Hill on July 16.

The convenience store is on the corner of Craddock Street and Dunstall Road.

At Wolverhampton Crown Court Azmat Khan, from Merridale Street West, Merridale, denied the charge that he, with others unknown, attempted to murder Mr Bashardoost.

He was remanded in custody until March 2 when he is expected to stand trial at the court.
