A sixth suspected murderer has been arrested over the death of a Lancashire man in the Black Country.

Police detained a 23-year-old man yesterday in connection with the murder of Yasir Hussain in Dudley last month.

Mr Hussain, a father of four in Lancashire, was found stabbed to death at 9.40pm after a car crashed into a Chinese takeaway on Central Drive, Lower Gornal, on December 4.

The car is believed to have been rammed by a grey van before crashing into the takeaway.

The inquest into his death was due to open today at Black Country Coroner's Court.

The man arrested yesterday is the sixth to be held on suspicion of murder.

Four men have been released under investigation while one man, 20-year-old Nabeel Choudhary from Hope Street, West Bromwich is in custody awaiting trial.

One other person, a woman, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and was also released under investigation.

The 23-year-old man arrested yesterday is currently being held in custody.

Detective Inspector Jim Colclough, from the force’s homicide unit, said: “This is another significant step forward as we try to establish exactly what happened to Mr Hussain.

"His family have been kept updated with this latest development and continue to be supported by specially-trained officers at this difficult time.

"We’ve been working closely with our partners and local people to tackle violence in the borough and reassure members of our communities."
