The two male offenders are believed to have broken into the van, which was parked in Orton Lane at around 2am on Wednesday.

Police attended the scene and one of the two men, who was riding a motorbike, appeared to deliberately crash into a police car before the two men fled on foot in different directions.

The suspects were then potentially spotted trying to escape in the area.

One man was spotted in a back garden in Foxhills Road around 20 minutes later, while another man was seen trying to enter a property in Billy Buns Lane and then seen on the roof of a garage before being scared off.

The man was then spotted being picked up on the same road by a dark, medium-sized car, possibly an Audi S3, Staffordshire Police believe.

Both men were wearing helmets and one man was wearing a black coat, grey joggers, black trainers and a black helmet.

Chief Inspector Mark Ward, commander for the South Staffordshire Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "The two suspects have caused a lot of distress to the local community and we are doing everything we can to track them down before more trouble is caused.

"My neighbourhood officers are providing a visible reassurance in the Wombourne area and will be there for anyone who has information about the incidents."
