Wolverhampton teenager arrested over Stafford stabbing

The 17 year old was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was knifed in Stafford.

A teenager from Wolverhampton has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing in Stafford.

A 22-year-old man was seriously injured when he was knifed outside the high-rise Pennycroft Court flats on Corporation Street at around 5.40pm on Saturday.

A boy aged 17 has since been arrested and bailed as the investigation continues.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "Detectives have arrested a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the stabbing in Stafford on Friday evening.

"The teenager, from Wolverhampton, has been released under investigation pending further inquiries."

A major appeal was launched after the victim, named locally as Ben Miles, arrived at Stafford's County Hospital with multiple stab wounds.

Meanwhile police are appealing for witnesses over a stabbing that seriously injured a man in West Bromwich on Sunday afternoon.
