Man stabbed after violence flares in West Bromwich

A man has been seriously injured in the latest stabbing in the Black Country.

Police were called as violence broke out in Haig Street, West Bromwich, at around 6.20pm on Tuesday night.

The victim, a man aged in his 20s, suffered stab wounds in the attack which happened on the Tantany estate.

Police say the man is in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

Part of Haig Street, at the junction of Gladstone Street, has been cordoned off while investigations continue.

The attack is the latest in a number of serious and fatal stabbings which have taken place in the Black Country over recent weeks.

On Sunday morning a man was found stabbed outside The Village Hotel, in Dudley.

Jaskaran Kang, aged 23, was stabbed to death above a shop in Dudley in February, while great-grandmother Anne James, 74, died after an attack at her house in Walsall last week.

Mylee Billingham, eight, and Jasmine Forrester, 11, also died after attacks in Brownhills and Wolverhampton.
