Forty-year-old Kerry Cast was found dead at her home in Herondale, Hednesford, Staffordshire, on July 1 this year. The death was first treated as unexplained as Staffordshire Police tried to unravel the mystery of her death.

Her post-mortem results returned inconclusive and officers began appealing for information. They released several CCTV images of potential witnesses and of Kerry herself but did not get anywhere. Kerry's mother Kathy Weaver also made a public plea for answers over her death but to no avail.

Now today Staffordshire Police has announced that Ms Cast died of complications from a medical issue, and that her death had been recorded as natural causes.

A spokesman for the force said: "A detailed and complex investigation commenced to understand the circumstances surrounding her death.

"All of the medical evidence is now available and it has been established that the cause of death was complications from a medical issue; natural causes.

"The investigation is now closed. Kerry’s family have been updated with this information and continue to receive support from officers."
