The development features one of the tallest residential buildings in the city.

The second tower at The Bank, located on Sheepcote Street opposite Brindleyplace, is now complete, with the first residents set to move in this week.

It marks the total completion of The Bank.

The building, which has been developed by Regal Property Group and built by Wates Construction, measures over 100 metres tall, making it larger than Big Ben and one of only two residential skyscrapers currently built in Birmingham.

The second tower contains 217 apartments built across 33 storeys, including one, two and three-bedroom homes. Residents at The Bank also benefit from a concierge service, a bespoke residents app, a residents lounge and coffee bar, a shared dining space, a private gym, shared green spaces and on-site bicycle storage facilities.

Ground floor retail units have also been included in the design.

Work started at the development in June 2016. The first tower, which completed in the summer of 2018, has 100 per cent of its apartments sold and is a 22-storey building standing 70 metres high. It has 189 studio, one and two-bedroom properties. The building includes retail space on the ground floor, private landscaped gardens and a concierge service.

Mark Holbeche, of Regal Property Group, said: "When we set out to create The Bank with Aprirose we wanted to fashion a striking development which would set the standard for quality apartments in the heart of the city, and we’re extremely proud of the homes we have created here.

"A real sense of community has developed already in the first building, and we’re only expecting this to improve when we open the doors to the second tower, which will also mark the opening of many of the communal spaces which all of residents can enjoy.

"The majority of the homes at The Bank are now sold, and we’re looking forward to welcoming the first residents to Tower 2 over the coming weeks. The development has been a great success, and we are looking at further opportunities to provide new homes in the city."

Manish Gudka, chief executive of Aprirose, said: "The completion of the second tower, and as such the entire Bank scheme is a great milestone for us and Regal Property. The fact that the second tower is 60 per cent sold, with the first tower being fully sold is a mark of the demand for quality residential properties in the area.

"Birmingham is an attractive proposition and our investment in the area is testament to our commitment to a thriving city, as central Birmingham continues to be a successful business, retail, leisure and residential destination."

John Carlin, regional managing director of Wates Construction Midlands, said: "The completion of this landmark development and our contribution to Birmingham’s economic regeneration is a source of great pride to everyone at Wates; it is a real pleasure to continue to play such an important role in the city’s evolving skyline.

"I’d like to thank our partners at Regal for their bold vision and determination to bring this project to fruition as well as our first-class team for an unrelenting commitment to making a complex build such a huge success."
