The latest figure was revealed as an appeal appeared on Crimewatch on BBC One.

Staff were left devastated by two separate raids in May that caused around £20,000 in repairs. Lead was stolen from the roof of the charity's fundraising, education and trading centre, with rooms flooded as a result, and catalytic converters were also taken from three charity vans.

Today, hospice marketing chief Grace Ruston said £3,500 had been received in donations.

"People are really rallying round and we are just very grateful for the support," she said.

West Midlands Police continue to investigate the crime.

Anyone with information should call police on 101.
