The youngsters, who come from areas including Low Hill and Bushbury in Wolverhampton, put in the hours at Revolution Dance Academy.

The academy, which is jointly run by dance teachers Hayley Christie and Hannah Gollick, has been running summer holiday camps for the last three years.

They give children living in the WV10 area of Wolverhampton the opportunity to learn how to dance during the school holidays.

The reward for children who participate is to get the opportunity to put on a show for friends and family at the end of the camp.

This year, the end-of-camp show was about street dance, working in collaboration with The Way youth centre, which wrote a song about knife crime that formed the theme of the performance in front of a full house at Low Hill Community Centre.

And Hayley was bursting with pride as she spoke about the day and the camp as a whole.

“I can’t come down, it was just so amazing to see the performances today,” she said. “Everyone was a star for me today and I couldn’t watch without shedding a tear about what they produced today.

“What they have achieved in five weeks is just epic and I want to thank all of them for their hard work and dedication.”
