Nylah Revitt, aged six from West Bromwich, has £250 for the NHS by crafting a range of items since lockdown.

Nylah Revitt, from West Bromwich, crafted keyrings, windmills, plant pots and other pieces to help fundraise.

The youngster aimed to raise £50 but has now raised a total of £255 for the front line service to help them pay for protective equipment.

Hayley Woodfield, her mother, said: "It all started with lockdown when she had to stay in – and there were all these stories about it.

"It started because she wanted to help them with their equipment and stuff – after she heard they had no PPE she said she wanted to help.

"She said 'I want to raise money to help' and she's always been very creative, so we got her some bits and then she wanted to make more and more.

"She's made windmills, keyrings, bug houses, magnets – she's made all sorts of stuff."

The youngster, a student at Moorlands Primary School, has also received a letter – and certificate – for her fundraising efforts.

Nylah, a member of the Rainbows at 4th Wednesbury Girl Guiding unit, received the praise from the group.

And her family – including father Sam Revitt and her almost two-year-old brother Braythe – have supported her during the fundraising.

"Considering it was her own idea it's incredible – it's been really good," Hayley added.

The six-year-old, who spends most of her day crafting the pieces outside in the sun, has now taken a break from crafting after hitting the total.
