How local singer songwriter went from a Shropshire village to a sell-out US tour
A former schoolgirl from a Shropshire village is on a sell-out US tour with a leading pop act after moving to the Los Angeles to pursue a music career.
Maisy Kay, 24, was born and raised in Claverley but moved to California 10 years ago after her talent was spotted by a music label scout.
Maisy was just 13 when she made the move to the Los Angeles with her parents after recording a demo of her singing landed her the chance of a record contract.
She has spent the last 10 years working on her music career, and is now poised to hit the big time after she was asked to join American singer-songwriter and social media sensation Jacob Dodge Lawson, known professionally as Jvke, on his latest US tour.
With shows across the United State this year, Maisy and Jvke have sold out venues in Washington, Nashville and Detroit.
Her performances have also gone down well with the critics who describe her as "electrifying" and "truly unforgettable".
